Take a wild rocket ride from the darkest, crappiest burlesque bars of run down entertainment planet Mars across the universe to a world run by a genetically engineered supervillain. Stingray Sam is a gloriously realised homage to Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, via steam punk, mad science and musicals. The story follows 'reformed' outlaws Stingray Sam and The Quasar Kid as they join forces to save a kidnapped girl and earn their freedom in a movie that is equal parts sci-fi dystopia and classic western. There are also some fantastic musical numbers provided by the eclectic Billy Nayer Show.
Directed by Cory McAbee (The American Astronaut) there are more wild ideas in 10-minutes of Stingray Sam than in your average yawn-worthy sci-fi blockbuster so enjoy the trip!
The screening will be introduced by director and star Cory McAbee.
