2010 sees another outstanding group of Australian and international guests here for the festival between 8-18 July. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for Rev guests across the frequencies talking about their works, RevCon sessions, and the big screen It's an easy environment at Rev so you'll usually find them around. They're here to talk movies, so they'll see you at the Astor!
Jackie AlixanderAustralia
As a young actress Jackie Alixander had her first acting experience playing a Rivendell Elf in Lord of the Rings, and then an Amazonian Warrior in Xena-Warrior Princess. Since then Jackie has honed her skills studying in London, New Zealand and Sydney. Amongst various small screen and short film credits, Jackie played a west London teenage rocker in Stop 731, a confused witch in Strange Magic, and then took to writing and producing with a short film called Black and White. Jackie's latest accomplishment is pushing herself as an actor in her third feature film, Nude Study.

TIM BECKETTAustralia
Tim Beckett is a writer from Perth, Western Australia. He has written 3 novels, been published in several short story anthologies, co-wrote the short film, Luminous Canary, which was produced in 2001, and frequently works as a stand-up comedian. A Day at the Oasis is his first feature film.
Tim is part of Rev representing his work A Day at the Oasis and will be in attendance to introduce the film on Sun July 18.
KATHERINE BERGERAustralia
Katherine Berger (MA Film and Digital Arts) has produced a number of short films and three feature films (Rosebery 7470, Nude Study and Zombie Massacre III) through joint production company with Stefan Popescu, Sydney Underground Films. Katherine is also one of the founders and directors of the Sydney Underground Film Festival and also producer for XFILM, a community television program which screens experimental and independent film content.
Katherine visits Rev representing the film Nude Study and engaging in a Q&A on Sun July 18. Katherine will also join in the State of Independents discussion on Sat July 17.
His award winning debut feature Eraser Children has screened internationally and in early 2010 was picked up by US sales company Silverline Entertainment.
Nathan will be representing his film Eraser Children as part of the Fantastic Planet: Sydney Science Fiction and Fantasy Film Festival on Sat July 17.
Australia
Katheen is Screen Australia's Head of Marketing.
Kathleen has more than 15 years experience in marketing the screen industries. Previously Kathleen was Head of Sales and Marketing at NZ Film, the sales arm of the New Zealand Film Commission, where she was responsible for the international sales and marketing of New Zealand features, including both creating an international presence and increasing the focus on domestic audiences. Kathleen maintains close relationships with Australian distributors, international distributors, festival directors and international film executives. Prior to 2001, Kathleen was the NZFC's Short Film Sales and Marketing Manager, where she explored different ways for screen content to reach domestic and international audiences. Kathleen has a background as a marketing consultant and has held various roles in sales and marketing management within the book publishing industry, including Random House NZ.
JEFF DUFF Australia
Sydney's answer to David Bowie, Jeff Duff is one of Australia's most enigmatic, flamboyant & enduring performers. Following a successful decade long career in London, Jeff returned to Oz in the early nineties to re-introduce his extraordinary style to the local scene. Jeff possesses one of the most powerful voices in pop music in the country.
Jeff visits Rev with the special event screening of Sons of Steel on Fri July 9.
CONOR HORGAN Ireland
Conor Horgan trained as a photographer, moving into directing TV commercials in the 90's and winning several awards in the field. His first short film, The Last Time, received a nation-wide cinema release in Ireland and was the recipient of seven awards. He now concentrates solely on his dramatic and documentary work.
Connor comes to Rev representing One Hundred Mornings and will engage in a Q&A after both sessions on Fri July 16 and Sun 18. Conor will also be part of the State of Independents discussion on Sat July 17.
MEGAN SIMPSON HUBERMANAustralia
Megan Simpson Huberman is a film & TV writer, director, and script developer. She wrote & directed Dating the Enemy, one of the highest grossing and rating Australian films of its year. She currently heads the development and production investment team at Screen NSW, and works with filmmakers to bring their projects to the screen.
Megan is part of Rev with her early work The Night of the Triffids on Sat July 17, introduce the picture and join in a post film Q&A.
GARY KEADYAustralia
Alongside Sons of Steel, Gary Keady's directorial credits include the short films Knightmare and The Athlete, as well as Ozrock, Music Planet and Spin. He has also produced numerous albums and music videos.

Mark has produced several feature films, most recently The Loved Ones and Restraint. In 2001, Mark produced Paul Goldman's successful Australian Rules. Mark has been Project Manager at the former AFC, Executive Producer of Filmgraphics Entertainment, Head of Development and Acquisitions for Ocean Pictures, and Creative Affairs Executive at Fox Icon Productions.
Just by accident, Mark is also Screen Australia Investment Manager
Mark is here representing The Loved Ones and will introduce the film and engage in a post film Q&A on Fri July 16.
Australia
Having been involved in underground artistic ventures for well over twenty five years, Jaimie has carved himself a place in Australian film culture through the Mu-Meson Archives, a musical band and treasure trove of left-field and lost cinema. Not just an expert in cinema, he is also - in the guise of Jay Katz - a legendary DJ.
As one of our special friends, Jaimie visits Rev to play the Opening Night on Thur July 8, participate in the Sons of Steel Q&A Fri 9th and provoke Jim Morton on Sat 10th.
JENNIFER MAASUSA
After graduating from The University of Texas with degrees in math and computer science, director/producer Jennifer Maas warily left Austin for a job in Seattle. After three years, she decided to pursue film, started Evil Bunny Films, and has since worked on features, music videos, and commercials as an editor, a producer, and a director. She co-produced Lynn Shelton's film Humpday, which premiered in competition at Sundance in 2009, and most recently produced Treatment, starring Humpday's Josh Leonard. This is her feature directorial debut.
Jennifer is part of Rev this year with her excellent documentary Wheedle's Groove and will join you for a Q&A on Sat July 17.
Australia
Ross is currently Screen Australia's Head of Production Investment.
Ross Matthews spent eight years as the Senior Investment Manager and Investment Manager for the Film Finance Corporation (FFC). At the FFC he was responsible for financing a diverse slate of Australian feature films, adult drama, children’s television and documentary. He worked closely with producers on their funding applications and in negotiating investment structures and production planning. For the three decades prior to this, Ross was an award-winning producer of television drama and feature films. Ross's roles at Screen Australia have been as Senior Investment Manager, Acting Head of Production Support & Investment, and since January 2009, Head of Production Investment.
Ross will be participating in the Where is Australian Film At? discussion on Sun July 18.
CORY MCABEEUSA
Cory is best known as the writer, director and lead actor of the award winning film, The American Astronaut. In 2007, McAbee was selected by the Sundance Film Festival to create one of the first five short films used to launch new advances in mobile phone technology and entertainment. McAbee is an established actor, singer, songwriter, illustrator, animator and musician.
Cory's an old friend of Rev and it's great to have him here representing his very special feature Stingray Sam on Sat July 10 to introduce and discuss his work. Our friend Cory will also be joining in the the discussion looking at the current independent environment in State of Independets on Sat July 17.
JIM MORTONUSA
Jim Morton is a San Francisco writer. He edited the Incredibly Strange Films book for Re/Search and has written extensively on various film genres. His articles have appeared in several books and magazines. He has made a career out of digging up forgotten topics and looking at the things that everyone else chooses to ignore.
Jim visits Rev to talk all things "film exotique" by introducing the screenings of Faster Pussycat. Kill! Kill! and Vixen and speaking on the subject on Sat May 10 in a special free discussion.

Chris is Senior Manager, State and Industry Partnerships at Screen Australia.
Before the three-agency merger into Screen Australia, Chris was an Investment Manager for feature films and TV drama at the Film Finance Corporation Australia. Recent titles include Bright Star, Balibo, Daybreakers, Beautiful Kate, Underbelly and Sea Patrol. In the late 1980s, he was appointed to the role of Executive Producer at Film Australia where he commissioned/executive produced and financed more than 100 hours of drama and documentary production. In Chris' current role he assists Screen Australia in working more closely with the state screen agencies, key guilds and screen practitioners, ensuring that the differing needs of practitioners are met.
Crhis comes to Rev representing Screen Australia.
STEFAN POPESCUAustralia
Stefan's second feature, Nude Study, was filmed in Canada and Australia and is due for release in 2010. Stefan is currently in post-production with his third feature, Zombie Massacre III, shot entirely in Canada. Stefan also teaches at Sydney College of the Arts and is one of the founders and directors of the Sydney Underground Film Festival.
Stefan visits Rev for the first time with his film Nude Study and engaging in a Q&A on Sun July 18. Stephan will also participate in the State of Independents panel on Sat July 17.
JON REISSUSA
Jon recently published Think Outside the Box Office, the first step-by-step guide to help filmmakers navigate the rapidly changing landscape of distribution and marketing. A critically acclaimed filmmaker, the book is based on Reiss' own experiences as well as interviews with experts in the field and other filmmaking pioneers.
Jon visits Rev to introduce and engage in a Q&A with his excellent documentary Bomb It! on Fri July 16 and also take the Thinking Outside the Box distribution and marketing workshop on Sat 17th.
Australia
Vicki Sowry is Program Manager at the Adelaide-based Australian Network for Art & Technology (ANAT - www.anat.org.au). She has a particular skill and passion for initiating and delivering programs for artists in partnership with industry and academia that give rise to innovative cross-disciplinary research and creative practice.
Vicki visits Rev to mount the Domefest experience on Sat July 17.

Jeff Stilson's documentary Good Hair - opening this year's Rev - won the Special Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Stilson began his career in show business as a stand-up comedian after graduating from the University of Washington. Besides having his own comedy specials on HBO and Comedy Central, Stilson, who is the descendent of Finnish circus performers, has made regular appearances on Letterman, Conan, and Leno, and the Australian show The Panel. He was also featured as a correspondent on Michael Moore's TV Nation. He has received 14 Emmy nominations for comedy writing and producing.
Jeff is Director of the Opening Night film Good Hair and will be lurking on Fri July 8.
TOM ZUBRYCKI Australia
One of Australia's most celebrated documentary filmmakers, Tom has over the past 30 years mapped Australia's changing social and political landscape. In addition to producing and directing his own films, Tom has dedicated part of his professional career to mentoring emerging filmmakers. In 2010 the Australian International Documentary Conference recognised Tom for his "outstanding contribution to documentary filmmaking in Australia".
We've known Tom for a while so it's great to have him here representing the documentary Stolen on Sat July 17, engaging in a post film Q&A.
